Hi there! This is Maryam, a.k.a. Foodie Explorerz. First of all, thank you for visiting my blog, and I hope you enjoy the content here (and hopefully follow my page: @foodie_explorerz XD). Now back to me. I was born in India and brought up here in Hong Kong my whole life, which I now call Home. Besides food, I also love watching horror and Bollywood movies, spending time with my family and friends, listening to music, and taking photos of food :D
Being raised in a desi household, my dearest Mom always fed me amazing homemade food, which is where my passion for food began. As I grew older, I started dining out more often to explore different cuisines and would always take pictures of my meals, which I would then store on my iPhone in a separate album dedicated just to food!
I started my food blog on Instagram back in 2020, where I'd share the places I had dined around Hong Kong; however, I soon realised my content was very different from other blogs due to personal dietary requirements, restricting the types of food I could eat. Initially, this seemed like my limitation, but I soon realised that this wasn't an individual problem.
Hong Kong is known to be one of the most international cities in Asia, with diverse cultures, backgrounds & beliefs. However, there was an issue when it came to catering to this diversified population (especially regarding food). Since then, it has become my goal to help all Foodies, no matter what dietary requirements they may have, locate restaurants around the city easily & quickly without them having to invest too much time and effort. People should simply be able to:
